#and things worth knowing
We refer to the appearance of a door as »design«. For classic doors, this refers to the layout of the panels, where getting the proportions right is crucial. Our perception subconsciously determines whether we like a door or not. When it comes to modern doors, we are guided by recognised stylistic guidelines and graphic principles. To summarise: we steer clear of short-lived design fads and uphold good taste. Even with non-standard heights and widths, we ensure that the proportions are maintained so that the doors retain their character.
Production
#our doors aren’t mass-produced
It is the combination of modern production technology and traditional craftsmanship that is evident in the meticulous attention to detail.
Material
#We use MDF as the base material for our door leaves.
This wood-based material, made primarily from finely shredded softwood, offers ideal conditions for the construction of our doors. The solid material allows for the milling of intricate profiles and provides the door with enhanced sound insulation.
Surface | Paint finish
#sand, varnish, sand, varnish...
The elegant, cosy finish is achieved through meticulous handcrafting involving multiple rounds of sanding and varnishing. In line with our philosophy, we use water-based varnish systems. White, RAL 9016 or a similar shade such as RAL 9010 are our standard colours. For custom colours, almost the entire range of RAL and NCS shades is available – looking particularly elegant in our »softmatt« finish.
Design
#to create a cohesive overall look
We consider the appearance of the door surface to be its design. A well-balanced layout is key to the appeal of classic doors. For modern models, we are guided by recognised style guidelines and graphic principles. But it is not just the design of the door surface that matters. The overall appearance depends on the harmonious interplay of all the door’s components. Design elements from the door panel are thus repeated in the door frame. Hinges and door handles also add their own distinctive touches. Tailored to the respective style, we offer flush-mounted glass cut-outs and glazing bars for every range.
Standard or made to measure
#The exceptional is the norm
As well as our standard options, we produce a wide range of made to measure products. This is where we really come into our own. For us, the extraordinary is the norm. Maintaining the correct proportions is particularly important here. Double-leaf doors for large openings are standard across all our ranges. On request, we can produce doors 2.5 metres high and above – we are happy to manufacture doors specifically tailored to your space.
Sliding doors
#suitable for all programmes
We offer a range of sliding doors to suit all ranges, running either within or in front of the wall, and available as single or double-leaf doors. On request, these can be fitted with soft-close or opening dampers.
Function
#The function is essential – but it doesn’t detract from the door’s appearance
Technology and features should not detract significantly from the door’s appearance – aesthetics are the priority. For every model range, we offer burglar-resistant front doors, fire-resistant or soundproof elements, and doors designed for enhanced climate stability.
Fittings and handles
#A beautiful selection for beautiful doors
Our standard specification includes 3-part hinges and a whisper-quiet lock. We also offer magnetic locks, concealed hinges and elegant door handles as optional extras. On request, we can supply flush-mounted handle rosettes in round, square or long-plate designs.
Door frames and skirting boards
#nice to add
We offer matching, style-appropriate door frames for every model range. On request, these are also available as pre-assembled versions with no visible mitre joint. Skirting boards in four different styles, matching both the design and colour scheme, complete the overall look.
